Liverpool have approached sensational Benfica youngster Kyanno Lorenzo Silva who is also on the target list of Borussia Dortmund and Atlanta.
After 14 matches in the PL, the Reds stand 2nd in the points table with 31 points. So far in this season, the team has shown tremendous passion and character as they only lost one match which was the infamous controversial loss against Tottenham Hotspurs.
Moreover, the Merseysiders made comebacks from losing situations and scavenged 15 points this season.
While they will continue to improve their tallies in future matches, a major concern for the administration is to sign new players in January.
The main focus will be to bolster the defense ahead of the second half of the season. However, another major worry for the club is to sign a replacement for Mohamed Salah who is likely to leave Anfield in 2024.
Liverpool eyeing a move for Kyanno Lorenzo Silva
The Anfield giants have identified a few players as potential replacements for the Egyptian forward. But the developments regarding those are not quite convincing.
However, according to a report by Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, LFC have approached Portuguese side Benfica for exciting youngster Kyanno Lorenzo Silva. Silva is a left-footed right-winger, similar to the Reds ace Mohamed Salah.
The 18-year-old is also being monitored by Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta who can give major competition to the Merseyside club.
The Dutch U-19 international has massively impressed the scouts from the aforementioned clubs with his performances this season.
The youngster currently plays for Benfica U-23 team and has scored 2 goals in just 9 appearances across all competitions.
He has also earned 3 caps for the Netherlands U-19 team since October 2023 but is yet to register a goal for his nation (stats via Transfermarkt).
Silva joined the Portuguese giants back in 2021 after coming through the youth ranks of SVV Schiedam, SC Feyenoord and Sparta Rotterdam. The winger’s contract at Benfica ends up in the summer of 2024.
This means Liverpool have the opportunity to secure the deal for a lot cheaper than anticipated. If the English giants can get this deal over the line, then they will have a solid backup for the outbound Salah.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
