The Reds duo Andy Robertson and Harvey Elliott react to Tyler Morton’s new contract with Liverpool FC.
Liverpool have confirmed Tyler Morton’s new long-term contract.
Morton is only 20 years old. He is one of the newest Kirkby starlets to have already played for his senior team under Jurgen Klopp.
The midfielder made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in 2021 after participating in a League Cup match against Norwich City.
Liverpool gave him a season-long loan to Blackburn Rovers for the experience. However, it’s apparent that he’s a dynamic player.
Elliott and Robertson on Morton’s new contract
On Instagram this afternoon, Morton responded to the news as follows:
“I am proud to announce that I have signed another long-term deal at this special football club 😁 There are so many people I need to thank for helping and guiding me in the right direction! This club means everything to me, so I couldn’t be happier for the future. But the focus remains on my development right now, once again thank you very much for the love and support”
One of his Liverpool teammates, Andy Robertson, reacted to Morton’s post on social media.
The left-back for the Reds penned, “Love it, son, new shoes?”
Younger than Morton, Harvey Elliott added his two cents, writing, “Deserve it, bro,” followed by a heart emoji.
Elliott knows the benefit of spending a year in a lower league.
Elliott was on loan at Blackburn at this time two seasons ago. And considering that he is now a key member of Klopp’s senior squad at Liverpool, you might argue that he is the ideal illustration of how the loan system functions.
Worryingly, Elliott is only 19 years old.
Morton is a tremendous talent, and this deal affirms his status within the team. But there is no certainty that he will be tearing up the Premier League for Liverpool next season or beyond.
