As per reports from the Sunday People, the Reds seem interested in signing the 20-year-old defender.

Moreover, it states that the Merseysiders have a lead over the other clubs as they have already spoken to the player’s camp.

But Klopp’s side may face strong competition from Newcastle as they are looking to bolster their squad.

With them playing Champions League football, they would look to capitalize on that aspect to lure the player.

The left-footed defender is a regular member of Sao Paulo’s senior squad. Moreover, he has made 21 appearances so far in the league while scoring once.

With Liverpool’s connection to Brazilian players, it might be no shock if he lands at Anfield. Players like Fabinho and Firmino have had a huge impact on the club and have departed as legends for Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Alisson still is at Anfield and is playing a key role in Klopp’s squad. Hence, he could be an agent for Liverpool, convincing the youngster to sign for the Reds.

Moreover, Liverpool are in the market for a defender and are looking at players like Goncalo Inacio. With their midfield revamped, the defense needs a bit of work for Klopp.

Van Dijk is slowly getting back to his best form while Matip is running out of contract next year. Meanwhile, Joe Gomez is injured and Konate seems to be inconsistent as well.

This could be a great opportunity for the Brazilian as he could be learning from one of the best, Van Dijk. Moreover, to be able to play week-in, and week-out would be great in the Premier League.

With a reported fee of £20m, it would be safe to say that the Reds should feel ok with such risk. On the other hand, Inacio could cost Liverpool a sum of £60m in the January window.
