Liverpool are reportedly in pole position to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
Bayern and Liverpool are discussing a deal involving their Dutch midfielder. He has been on the Liverpool radar for a long time now and both the clubs are discussing a deal for the player.
Moreover, Indykaila News now suggests that personal terms have already been reached after Klopp spoke to the player yesterday evening.
As per The Athletic, Liverpool are now in negotiations with the club to secure the midfielder’s signature. It stated that while Liverpool have wanted Gravenberch for a while this saga has developed significantly today.
It states that the rates have appeared to have been seriously pushing for a deal in the last few hours. Additionally, it reads that the deal is not closed yet but the Anfield club is expected to launch a bid, which is rumoured to be around £35 million.
Liverpool closing in on Ryan Gravenberch
Liverpool have held the Dutch midfielder in high regard and it is also reported that the player himself wants to join them over any other club.
It is crucial to note that even Manchester United with Ryan’s former boss in charge are behind the player.
The player’s decision to not join his former boss has now made United prioritize another Liverpool target, Sofyan Amrabat.
The 6ft 3in midfielder is more of a box-to-box player than an actual holding midfielder. This would not be a problem for Jurgen Klopp who could use the Dutchman to bolster his midfield.
Moreover, the midfielder has played the position before and has the potential to be a top number 6. But his current skill set is more suited to being a box-to-box player.
However, this should not be a problem as the German could convert him into a holding midfielder.
The 21-year-old has been branded ‘very dominant’ by his former coach and has a lot of potential. Moreover, under Jurgen Klopp, he could reach his prime and help Liverpool win a lot of trophies.
