Liverpool can now sign Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch at the asking price of £43M from Bayern Munich before the transfer window closes on Friday.
After a lot of ups and downs, the Merseysiders are ready to finish this transfer window on a positive note. They are hoping to conclude the window with the last signing, preferably a midfielder.
The Reds lost many senior players and missed out on several targets this summer. However, they were also able to sign Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo.
And to complete the midfield rehaul, they need only one more signing. The names of Cheick Doucoure and Ryan Gravenberch have been surfacing up the most.
The latest update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has concreted these claims.
Liverpool to sign Bayern midfielder Ryan Gravenberch
While speaking on his Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio said that the Reds are ready to pounce upon the chance to sign Gravenberch. He stated,
“Liverpool need a player in that position and Gravenberch is 100 per cent included in their list alongside other players.
For example, [Cheick] Doucoure from Crystal Palace is a player they really appreciate, but he’s probably too expensive in this moment.
But Liverpool have the financial possibilities to go to Bayern and pay what they want for Ryan Gravenberch.
At the moment they don’t have any green light from Bayern to start a concrete negotiation, but Liverpool are there.
Liverpool like the player, they had very good contacts with his camp, so in case the situation changes at Bayern on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday, they will be prepared to bid for Gravenberch.”
The Reds will also be looking for a new defender which could either be in the form of a right-back as Trent needs someone to fight for his position or a center-back looking at the injury history of Ibrahima Konate.
