Liverpool have been busier than usual in the transfer market and Klopp has brought in two-star midfielders in Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
After an uneventful previous season, a whole team rebuild was expected and Klopp had prioritized over his midfield.
Anifeld for one is surely a busy place as there are a lot of incomings and outgoings. After 5 players leave the club, there is a possibility that more could be on their way out.
The club captain, Henderson, and a key midfielder in Fabinho are reportedly close to leaving the club. Many reports have suggested that Liverpool are open to selling the players to Saudi clubs. The Saudi Pro League clubs have shown interest in the Liverpool duo.
‘It was outstanding’: Klopp on the new Liverpool boys
Klopp spoke about the way the new signings have settled into the squad. He admitted that when he told the squad about the midfield duo, the reception was ‘outstanding’.
“Two very good players. I was immediately thinking about nicknames and I thought it would be a great nickname for Alexis… Gary! He plays pretty good football, obviously, the same as Dom.
It was pretty clear in the moment we signed them, the public reception was pretty good, internally it was outstanding, the boys know about football so they were immediately like, ‘Oh my God…’ so that’s really good. Now they are here and didn’t take long, let me say, to impress on the pitch as well, so that’s good.”
The Reds aren’t done here though and seems to be in the market for more midfielders. The Merseysiders are keen on making a move for Romeo Lavia and also Caicedo if the rumoured Reds’ duo leave.
The rumours of Thuram and Kone have cooled a bit but the way Liverpool moved swiftly for Szoboszlai, we never know!
Now that the pre-season is fast approaching, the new players seem to be settling in quite well.
For Klopp, seeing the current squad react so positively to the new signings is massive news for him. He wants a good team spirit around the place and no pushback. Really, he’s got the ideal response here.
This feels like a big summer for Liverpool. An overhaul has happened and that overhaul could get even bigger if the likes of Henderson and Fabinho leaves.
