Liverpool are in the mix to sign the French midfielder Khephren Thuram but he still has not agreed terms. Although reports say that he is closer to signing for the Reds.
Liverpool are fully involved in the market this summer as they plan to rebuild the midfield. The Merseysiders have successfully signed Alexis Mac Allister and are looking forward to signing more players. Klopp would love a player who can constantly press and win the ball, Thuram fits this description.
Khephren Thuram awaits agreeing to Liverpool signing terms
Khephren Thuram has been one of the many targets for Liverpool this season. The OGC Nice midfielder has been linked with the club and is already in the advanced stages of transfer talks. According to a report via Get French Football News, the midfielder has not yet agreed to terms.
The 22-year-old looked impressive while playing for Nice this season. He has made 48 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and assisting eight. Thuram has also been a part of the second-best defensive unit in Ligue 1.
Although Nice did not have a great season, the Frenchman shined in that midfield throughout the season. He has earned a spot in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year alongside Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain’s Sporting Advisor, Luis Campos likes Thuram very much but the French giants are not going to pursue the midfielder this summer.
On the other hand, Liverpool have been in contact with OGC Nice, but it has not been fruitful. There has been two initial meetings between the two teams and the output overall has been negative. The French side are not very interested in engaging in any kind of business and wants to keep hold of the 22-year-old.
The player is very much interested to join the Anfield outfit. So it comes down to only two options, either the French international has to ask the club for a move or Liverpool will have to submit an official offer of €60M.
Thuram still has two more years remaining in his contract. It would be interesting to see how Liverpool gets the deal done before the pre-season begins.
