Real Madrid has rejected €60M bid by Liverpool to sign Frenchman Aurelien Tchouameni. The 23-year-old joined Los Blancos last summer.

As reported by Defensa Central, Liverpool have been keen to sign Aurelien Tchouameni but Real Madrid have rejected the offer. The midfielder is considered an integral part of the first-team setup and is not up for sale no matter what the price is.

Tchouameni brought attention to his name while playing for AS Monaco in Ligue 1. He garnered the interest of many big clubs. Eventually, the Spanish giants secured the deal for €80M in the last year’s summer transfer window.

As Casemiro left the Whites last summer, the French midfielder was supposed to be the replacement for him. The midfielder’s season started off pretty well looking like he was the successor of the Brazilian. But his form dipped in the second half of the season. He stayed on the bench most of the time or suffered from injuries.

Despite these happenings, he has provided 4 assists appearing in 50 games across all competitions. On average, he has put in 1.5 tackles and 1.1 interceptions per game (stats via WhoScored). His contract expires in 2028 and Real Madrid have announced him as untouchable till then.

Liverpool wants to sign Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni

Meanwhile, Liverpool are again keen on signing Tchouameni. He was on the radar of Klopp the previous season but Los Blancos secured the deal before the Reds could.

The Merseysiders had a disappointing season and the club is in active mode to rebuild their midfield. This has been evident with the signing of Alexis Mac Allister and now Klopp wants to bolster the midfield with the signing of Tchouameni.

A couple of days back, the Anfield giants put forward a bid of more than €60M for the French international. But Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez straight up rejected the offer because of the reason stated earlier.

Thus, as a result, Jurgen Klopp has to shift his focus from the Frenchman. Also, the report suggests that this is not the first time the Whites have received a bid for a player this season. As the transfer window opens in the coming weeks, both clubs are said to have many transactions to be completed.
