A reliable and top source has confirmed that Liverpool are in talks with Manchester United target Benjamin Pavard.
Liverpool are heavily engaged in the transfer business this season in order to revamp the midfield. But the transfer expert has also mentioned that the Merseysiders will take an active part in signing players in other positions as well. He stated on his YouTube channel,
“Expect a busy summer for Liverpool with many signings. This is why spending the main part of the budget on one single player was going to create a problem for the club.”
Whenever Trent Alexander Arnold has been out of the team, either James Milner or Joe Gomez has replaced him. But this summer saw Milner leave the club and Gomez does not put little to no offensive threat as Trent.
The Reds will definitely go for more midfielders but it’ll be more smart on their side if they try signing a player who can cover both right-back and center-back positions.
Liverpool to overtake Manchester United in their quest to sign Pavard
As per BILD journalist Christian Falk, that’s exactly what the Merseyside giants are doing as they now chase Manchester United target, Benjamin Pavard. Falk wrote about this on CaughtOffside,
“Benjamin Pavard has informed the club (Bayern Munich) that he wants to move in the summer.
His agents are already talking to other clubs. Among them, Liverpool is now a hot candidate.
Previously, Chelsea and Barcelona were already known to be interested, as well as Italian clubs AC and Inter Milan.”
The regular starter for Bayern and France still doesn’t have a transfer fee announced by the club. But Transfermarkt evaluated his value at €35M. However, according to the BILD report, the French international deal can be sealed off at just €30M.
If Liverpool can capitalize on this deal then their full-back and center-back positions will become secured for the foreseeable future.
