Liverpool are now in direct talks with Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The Reds are eager to sign these two midfielders.

The Merseysiders are looking to complete their transfer business as early as possible this season. Jurgen Klopp wants his team to be ready before pre-season and it is clear what they are after. We have seen that with the latest signing of Alexis Mac Allister.

Liverpool to make move on Thuram and Kone: Romano

Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister yesterday and again he has indicated that the club is pursuing both Thuram and Kone.

Yesterday on Twitter, Fabrizio stated,

“Liverpool have been in direct contact with both Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram agents again this week.

Internal discussion taking place over official proposals.

Liverpool asked for some time to close in on Mac Allister deal then decide on new midfielders.”

Liverpool as a club have not been very active in the transfer market. Throughout the years, there have been a few signings but they have been very economical. No transfer window has been this much exciting and intense as this one.

Jurgen Klopp after arriving has not been much of a spender. His philosophy always has been to scout and sign young talents and nurture them to greatness.

But the last season has seen the effects of not investing in the team. The Reds have learned from their mistakes and trying to amend them.

Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone both had a good season respectively. Khephren & Manu Koné used to play as midfielders together as a youth at ACBB (Athletic Club de Boulogne-Billancourt).

They are good friends. Manu knows Khephren’s father as well. If there is a will to get both, there are a lot of non-financial incentives that are aligned with this transfer saga.

Since everything has been indicated at the signing of both the midfielders, it is looking like a perfect midfield rebuild. Next season the trio of Mac Allister, Thuram, and Kone will be a sight to behold.
