Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could give a starting opportunity to young left-back Luke Chambers against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
The Reds currently are in fine form after winning their last three games. Manager Jurgen Klopp will be looking forward to extending this good run of games as they will face Bournemouth tonight in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The team so far looks pretty set and composed despite the ups and downs this season. Currently, Luis Diaz is not available due to his father’s kidnapping in Columbia.
Apart from that, the team has only one major injury situation as Andy Robertson suffered a shoulder injury during international duty.
He will be out for the next few months so his place will be filled by either Kostas Tsimikas or Luke Chambers.
And the clash against Bournemouth could see a major change in the Merseyside defense.
Luke Chambers might feature in Liverpool vs Bournemouth
Young fullback and LFC academy graduate Luke Chambers could be handed a start in the domestic cup match instead of the Greek fullback.
The 19-year-old got his full debut in the senior outfit last week against Toulouse.
And he had a decent start to his senior Liverpool career. Apart from a few instances he was solid and helped in the 5-1 victory against the French side.
Chambers spoke about his debut and said,
“I’ve dreamt of this moment since I was six years old, and a win as well. I’m lost for words.
I found out yesterday and had a little bit of time with my family at night and a bit of reality this morning when I woke up. But I loved every minute of it.”
The unfortunate injury of Robertson has given a chance to both Tsimikas and Chambers to prove themselves.
For the Englishman, it will be a great opportunity to establish himself as a viable option for replacement and potentially a candidate for a full-time role in the future.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
