Shockwaves in Holland Camp As Liverpool Steal Key Man Ahead Of Euro 2024!

Arne Slot has caused shockwaves through the Holland Euro 2024 camp. He is set to fill in the shoes of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. Now his Feyenoord assistant Sipke Hulshoff has resigned as the No. 2 Holland coach.

Hulshoff was the second to Holland coach Ronald Koeman. He gave up on the Euros so that he could join Arne Slot at Anfield.

Liverpool made it clear to Hulshoff that they would only sign off on him working alongside Slot at Anfield if he was available for duty from July 1.

This indicates that there will be a significant shift in Liverpool’s backroom staff structure in the post-Klopp era. Liverpool agreed to pay a £11 million compensation package to Feyenoord for Arne Slot.

Slot informed Liverpool CEO Michael Edwards of his desire to recruit Hulshoff, along with second assistant Etienne Reijnen and head of performance Ruben Peeters, to accompany him from Rotterdam to Liverpool. Feyenoord have demanded another £2 million for the trio from the Reds.

Sipke Hulshoff Set To Join Slot

Hulshoff’s withdrawal from the Dutch national team ahead of the Euros has left Ronald Koeman, the Dutch manager, scrambling to find a replacement ahead of the tournament in Germany.

Slot gave confirmation about his Liverpool move last week, saying,

“I can’t reveal the details right now, but it is not about my contract.

There are a combination of factors which is the cause why there is no announcement yet. But don’t worry. It will happen.

I know I have been saying this every time over the past week, but I do expect that it really is a matter of days now. Some things just need more time.”

Although Slot denied to disclose the details, he assured it is not a contractual issue and an official announcement is imminent.

In addition to Slot’s arrival, Liverpool will have to find a new goalkeeping coach as the long-serving coach John Achterberg is set to join Steven Gerrard at Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq.

As Klopp prepares for his emotional final game at Liverpool against Wolves ending his eight-and-a-half-years journey, the groundwork is being laid for a new era.
