Since the signing of Wataru Endo, the fans have been anticipating another midfield signing from Liverpool FC and Klopp to fill in the void by the outgoing players.
Since losing Fabinho and Henderson, the Reds need replacements for each of the experienced players. This would only be logical in many senses for the Anfield club.
Moreover, with funds of around £111m, that they bid for Caicedo, should be put to good use. The Merseysiders did show the world that they do have the funds and are just delaying the signings of their desired transfer target.
But since then only spent £15m on Endo and it doesn’t take a lot to say that they still have a lot of funds to spend.
This only means one thing- they would go all in for their next transfer target before the deadline. Or would they not?
Endo could be the last piece of the midfield rebuild for Liverpool FC
Dean Jones revealed while talking to Ranks FC Podcast that their recruitment for the summer is all done. He claimed that the Japanese was the last piece of this rebuild.
“Now, the message I’m hearing coming out of Liverpool right now is that this is it. This is the solution, they’re not looking for anymore midfielders. I’m finding it hard to believe though. I’m finding that hard to believe, Jurgen Klopp has driven this transfer (Endo), and the only other time I can remember him doing that is with Thiago, a player they didn’t really need at the time.
The message out of the club is to not expect anything. I feel like they’ve said that before and they have worked in the dark and just revealed one.”
We have been hearing a lot about the midfield rebuild for a long time and fans have held their hopes high enough.
But now after three signings, it looks like the business has been a bit underwhelming, to say the least.
Indeed, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai are great players who have started very well for the Reds. And Endo has been amazing for Stuttgart, but they need those numbers in their ranks.
Moreover, they have failed to replace two Champions League winners who have been very crucial to the club.
If this is indeed it for Liverpool, one can’t help but worry about their chances of being successful this season.
