Tim Sherwood has showered praise on Darwin Nunez for his instrumental role in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over West Ham United at Anfield.

Sherwood, a former title-winner with Blackburn, expressed his admiration for Nunez’s qualities, emphasizing that he wouldn’t want to face the Liverpool forward on the pitch.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager highlighted Nunez as a significant asset to the team.

Nunez’s recent performance showcased his resurgence, with four goals in all competitions and two assists, a stark contrast to previous criticism.

Sherwood, who previously managed Tottenham and Aston Villa, commended Nunez’s relentless and imposing style, noting that he poses a constant threat to defenders.

Tim Sherwood comments on Darwin Nunez

Despite not being known for his technical finesse, Nunez’s unrelenting approach is considered his greatest asset.

In regards to Nunez’s performance this season, Sherwood told Premier League Productions,

“He (Nunez) is back to his best. Causing havoc up there for any defenders. I really like Liverpool and I think they are going to challenge for the Premier League title.

He is a nuisance. I wouldn’t want to play against him. He is a pest. He runs you in-behind. He can take the ball. He is a good size and backs in.

He isn’t technically very clean, but sometimes, that’s his biggest asset – I think he is a real threat. I think he is a huge asset to Liverpool now.”

The 54-year-old underlined Liverpool’s potential to contend for the Premier League title this season, citing Nunez as a key factor in their aspirations.
