Tim Sherwood comments on Darwin Nunez
Despite not being known for his technical finesse, Nunez’s unrelenting approach is considered his greatest asset.
In regards to Nunez’s performance this season, Sherwood told Premier League Productions,
“He (Nunez) is back to his best. Causing havoc up there for any defenders. I really like Liverpool and I think they are going to challenge for the Premier League title.
He is a nuisance. I wouldn’t want to play against him. He is a pest. He runs you in-behind. He can take the ball. He is a good size and backs in.
He isn’t technically very clean, but sometimes, that’s his biggest asset – I think he is a real threat. I think he is a huge asset to Liverpool now.”
The 54-year-old underlined Liverpool’s potential to contend for the Premier League title this season, citing Nunez as a key factor in their aspirations.
He believes that Nunez’s development was a matter of patience and adaptation to English football, predicting that he will eventually emerge as one of the Premier League’s top forwards.
Overall, Sherwood’s assessment suggests that Liverpool’s attacking prowess, bolstered by Nunez’s contributions, could propel them to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.
