Tottenham Hotspurs legend Graham Roberts cannot believe that people online are urging for a rematch of the weekend clash between Liverpool and Tottenham.
The match between Spurs and the Reds this weekend has sparked off a major controversy in the PL. The talking point so far has been that goal of Luis Diaz which would have put the Merseysiders in the lead.
However, due to a “significant human error” as stated by PGMOL, this goal was disallowed by VAR. The Anfield giants have also published an official statement saying they will “explore the range of options available, given the clear need for escalation and resolution.”
Amid this situation, many people online want the match between them should be ‘replayed’. And former England international has something to say about this.
Graham Roberts does not want a Liverpool vs Tottenham rematch
Graham Roberts switched on Sky Sports and was in utter disbelief as he heard there were suggestions that there should be a rematch. And this left him tweeting furiously about this issue,
“I’ve been listening to skysports news am I going mad, yes the refs mucked up on Saturday re the goal the sending offs were right, now they saying we should replay the match JOKE. Should Man Utd v wolves get replayed when wolves didn’t get penalty. Everybody needs to move on”
It is just illogical at this point to talk about the match to be replayed. Many clubs this season have found themselves in this situation.
Definitely, the club in distress has not made this request for the rematch. The Reds apparently have requested the Premier League to release the audio of the interaction between the officials.
And the release of the audio is imminent. This would somewhat clear the air and hopefully ascend towards the resolution.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
