Layton Stewart, the former Liverpool youngster who moved to Championship club Preston North End in the summer transfer window, has expressed his disappointment over his limited playing time.
However, his prospects of more regular football with Preston may soon improve.
Preston’s manager, Ryan Lowe, hinted at the possibility of Stewart making his first start for the club ahead of their game against Coventry City.
He praised Stewart’s recent performances in training and suggested that there would be opportunities for the 21-year-old forward.

So far, Layton Stewart has only played for eight minutes in Preston’s colors and has remained on the bench for the last four Championship games.
“Layton’s been the shining light over the past few weeks in training,”
Lowe says, via the Preston North End Twitter feed.
“We’ve seen a different side to him. He’s disappointed he’s not getting many minutes but there will definitely be opportunities for Layton.”
Despite his limited playing time, Lowe emphasized that Stewart is a talented player who needs time to develop physically and adapt to the senior game.
Lowe had previously stated that Stewart was “miles off where he needs to be” in terms of physical strength, emphasizing the need to build him up for the next few weeks.
Despite their early promise, Preston has now gone seven games without a win, which has raised hopes that Stewart might get a chance to make an impact.
