Fabinho ruled out of the Champions League Final?
With only four games left in 16 days, any minor injury may spell the end of the season.
Fabinho would be hoping that’s not the case. The Brazillian midfielder suffered a hamstring injury leading to his replacement against Aston Villa.
The Times’ reporter Paul Joyce confirmed that Fabinho had been ruled out of the FA Cup Final this weekend.
The Brazillian will also be missing the games against the Wolves and Southampton. And as Liverpool is virtually out of the title race, its least of their concerns.
The player will now be focusing on just the Champions League Final. Moreover, with the view of a training return in the build-up for the big final.
That gives him a two-week recuperation window. Seeing him play before the Champions League final would be a good sight for Jurgen Klopp, given how vital the No. 3 is to him and the team.
Jordan Henderson will step into the No. 6 role in his absence, accompanied mainly by Thiago, with Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, and James Milner rotating through the other positions.
Fabinho is included in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming internationals on Wednesday. And their fitness coach Fabio Mahseredjian is “optimistic” that he will be in contention against Real Madrid.
Mahseredjian said:
“We don’t have all the information yet, but we are optimistic that he will make the Champions League final,”
Liverpool fans will be praying for the No.3’s return for a vital clash against Los Blancos. But, the Reds coach would be preparing for a ‘Plan B’ in case Brazillian doesn’t make it to the game.
