Young midfielder Trey Nyoni was present at the Liverpool senior first-team training session on Sunday ahead of the FA Cup clash against Arsenal.
The fine form of the Anfield giants will be continuing in the 3rd round of FA Cup on Sunday against Arsenal. Their performances in the PL and other cup competitions have been awe-inspiring.
Despite all the injury issues and players missing out due to international duty, the Merseysiders are the favourites to win the game. However, it will not be an easy fight as the Gunners will try their best to beat it.
The long list of absentees indicates that Red’s boss, Jurgen Klopp, will have to use his young guns on the weekend. Furthermore, the latest update solidifies this speculation.
Trey Nyoni at Liverpool training before Arsenal clash
LFC posted a video of Friday’s first-team training on their official Twitter (X) handle. A certain Trey Nyoni can be spotted in that video amongst several other Reds youngsters.
As Klopp is bound to miss players like Matip, Robertson, Tsimikas, Thiago, Bajcetic and Szoboszlai due to injury and Endo and Salah due to international duty, junior players will get the chance to warm Liverpool bench at minimum.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the German manager said,
“But actually, I am not sure if Arsenal is now a game to rotate. I sit here, I don’t know 100 per cent if we have the opportunity to do so, to be honest, whatever it means.”
Nyoni, a summer signing from Leicester, is a promising young talent who rose from the U-18 to the U-21 Liverpool squad seamlessly despite being only 16 years old.
So far this season, the England U-17 international has scored 3 goals and assisted 1 playing at midfield. The trip to North London can be a decent opportunity for the youngster to showcase his abilities.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
