Liverpool have recalled their Portuguese loanee, Fabio Carvalho, from his unsuccessful stint at RB Leipzig and have been talking to him ever since.
After a disappointing loan spell off 6 months at Red Bull Arena, the 21-year-old is now back at Anfield. He made just one Bundesliga appearance throughout the first half of the season. Moreover, Liverpool are said to be furious with Leipzig’s treatment of the Portuguese international.
Liverpool to loan out Carvalho again?
Meanwhile, the Reds are looking to send Carvalho out on loan again. However, while speaking to Give Me Sport, journalist Dean Jones said that the youngster wants to prove himself next season at Merseyside.
“I’m told there are already four or five clubs knocking on the door [for Carvalho on loan], and more are expected to do so in the next week or so.
Liverpool are having conversations with Carvalho about exactly what they are looking to get out of the rest of this season and, beyond that, what the plan will be longer-term.
Carvalho wants to hear how he will get into the Liverpool picture because he wants to be in that squad for next season. You hear about how they might build the squad long-term. If Mohamed Salah ends up leaving, that could open up space within the Liverpool set-up.”
The Portuguese to stay at Anfield?
With the season halfway done, the next 6 months would be crucial for Carvalho. If he is to find another club for another loan spell, he must find the right one. With loads of potential, he needs to be playing week-in, week-out.
However, if he’s to stay at Merseyside, he must let Klopp know that he belongs in the starting XI. Either way, he needs a stage to show his potential and grow as a player. With Salah going away for the AFCON, it could be a perfect opportunity for Carvalho.
