Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Liverpool manager is stepping up his summer recruitment plans with five huge signings for the summer.

The Reds have arguably had their best period under Klopp winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

However, this season has been not upto the mark, and the German needs reinforcements for the next season. The Reds need to get back to their best as they currently sit 8th with 9 points off of a UCL spot.

If this form continues, it is feared that Liverpool would miss out on European football for the next season. This would be an unthinkable scenario for the fans as well as the club hierarchy.

As a result, Klopp knows he has a major rebuilding job on his hands this summer. Indeed, the main focus of Klopp’s attention will be on strengthening a midfield that has looked especially vulnerable this season.

Besides, the midfield has been a strong point for Klopp but now he looks to add more energy and creativity. Moreover, Bellingham was Klopp’s long-time transfer midfield target. But now it has become complicated with the Reds pulling out of the race to sign him.

Hence, now Klopp has a new list of players that he would wish to sign for the next season.

Romano claims Liverpool making progress

The Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has claimed that Liverpool are making progress over their midfield target, Ryan Gravenberch.

“Liverpool are still there for Ryan Gravenberch, still pushing, they have not given up. They consider him as a perfect signing, and he wants to play, not to be on the bench like he has been at Bayern.

Still, Bayern want him to stay, so they have no intention to negotiate. Let’s see if they can persuade him to stay. Liverpool are waiting, but Bayern consider him a really important player.”

It has been claimed that the Dutch midfielder is quite open to the idea of moving to the Premier League. Ever since his move to Bayern, he hasn’t played as much as he would have desired. But, currently with Tuchel at the helm, his future is yet to be decided.

Besides, it has been reported that the Merseyside club have spoken to the player’s agent and father about a potential transfer.

Klopp aiming for five potential signings

After a lackluster season from the Reds, Klopp now looks to rebuild his squad. And another journalist, Dean Jones, now claims that the German aims at bringing in 5 signings to Anfield for the next season.

Jones claims Liverpool’s main focus will be on both midfield and central defence. There are also suggestions that a new right-back could be sought to give Trent Alexander-Arnold more freedom to play in midfield.

One of the main targets in midfield is reportedly Mac Allister of Brighton. But, Jones also admits that the Reds would face tough competition for the World Cup winner.

“There’s no way anyone’s going to get a free run at Mac Allister and I’m sure that Liverpool will know that. He’s an interesting option.

My understanding for Liverpool is that they’re looking at four or five signings in the summer now. I can see why [Mac Allister] would be one of their targets, but it’s not going to be easy to sign him.”

He even added that the Chelsea star, Mason Mount, is also on the radars of the Reds.

“Liverpool are also considering Mason Mount and they will have contacts with the camp of Alexis Mac Allister soon, probably in the next few weeks.”
