Jermaine Pennant believes Liverpool could soon make an amazing signing this summer in the form of France international Khephren Thuram.
While speaking on TalkSport, the former Liverpool player claimed that the 22-year-old midfielder could be an incredible addition for the Reds.
Reportedly valued at £50m, Thuram ticks a lot of boxes for what Liverpool are looking for in a young midfield signing. And the Ligue 1 star has seemingly caught the eye of Pennant, who believes the youngster is of similar ilk to Anfield legend Steven Gerrard.
“There are talks of them getting Kephran Thuram. If that happens it will be an amazing signing. Apparently, there is talks being advanced.
He’s like a box-to-box midfielder, he scores goals and he can go past players. I’m not going to put him to Steven Gerrard but if I can say what kind of mould he’s in, he’s one of those players. He’s technically gifted, strong and quick and also has an eye for goal. That would be amazingly well alongside Mac Allister.”
There have been a lot of reports suggesting that the French player’s imminent move to Liverpool is a matter of days.
Liverpool getting closer and closer to sign Khephren Thuram
The Nice midfielder is strong and fast and only 22-year-old, he would only get better from here.
Under a coach like Jurgen Klopp, the youngster has all the tools needed to become a genuine world-class midfielder. He is a prospect that should excite many supporters this summer.
Apart from the Nice midfielder, the Reds are also targeting his national teammate, Manu Kone. Moreover, the duo would be signings for the present and the future for Liverpool.
As per reports prevailing in the transfer market, the duo are reportedly very close which would help in having a good chemistry and build team morale.
All-in-all, the Reds must go for the midfield duo of Thuram and Kone before their rivals seize the opportunity.
