Liverpool are reportedly ready to send Calvin Ramsay out on loan in the summer transfer window as they are hopeful of finding a PL club for the defender.
According to 90min, Liverpool have told Ramsay that he could leave on loan for the next season.
With Trent Alexander Arnold rediscovering his form lately, it would be difficult for the Scotsman to break into the first team for Liverpool. The ex-Aberdeen man would surely benefit from the minutes he would get if loaned out.
‘Outstanding’: Liverpool Boss on Calvin Ramsay
The 19-year-old right-back is a promising, young talent and is highly rated by the German manager as well. Klopp described Ramsay as ‘outstanding’ and a ‘real talent’ in September of 2022, while speaking to BBC.
It would be a better deal for both parties as they would benefit from this loan move. The teenager would have regular playing minutes and this would only improve his gameplay and maturity.
The Scotsman arrived in Liverpool in the summer of 2022 from the Scottish side, Aberdeen. The Scotland U21 international had risen rapidly through the Dons’ ranks having joined them as a nine-year-old and turned professional in 2019.
He was initially a central midfielder, developing his skills in that position until U15 level. Later, he was suddenly deployed on the right side of defence during a youth tournament.
Such was his impressive transition, and Ramsay has remained in that position ever since. He graduated to make a senior debut for Aberdeen as a substitute against Dundee United, in March 2021.
Ramsay also gained European experience in the Europa Conference League qualifiers. He swiftly established himself as a regular for Aberdeen with 24 outings in the Scottish Premiership and a further three in domestic cups. However, so far he just has 2 appearances for the Reds.
