After many speculations surrounding the future of Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian star has reportedly chosen to stay at Liverpool.
The Reds and their fans have been in a major dilemma regarding the Salah situation for the last couple of months.
Earlier reports had suggested that the star forward was bound to leave Anfield by the end of this season for Saudi Arabia.
But the latest update from Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, has suggested that the 31-year-old is thinking of extending his term at the Merseyside club.
This transfer frenzy started back in the summer of 2023, when Saudi side Al-Ittihad wanted to sign Salah.
They even offered £150M for the attacker but LFC rejected all the record-breaking transfer offers to retain him.
Salah Stays At Liverpool
The report also suggests that the 31-year-old wants to continue his career at the highest stage of football, whether with Liverpool or anywhere else in Europe.
He will try achieving the highest summits of football in the meantime. But the possibility of him joining Saudi Pro League anytime soon is out of the equation.
Salah choosing to stay at Anfield is a big relief for all the Kopites considering he is one of the best attackers of this generation.
Since joining the club back in 2017, the Egyptian skipper has been a menacing mercenary in the Merseyside attack.
In 332 appearances across all competitions, Salah has scored 204 goals and assisted 88, rightfully claiming the LFC legend status (stats via Transfermarkt).
What Does The Future Hold?
The most probable possibility is that the star forward will renew his contract to extend tenure at the prestigious club.
Salah’s contract is imminently runs out in 2025 and the best bid for Liverpool would be to extend the terms.
Even though recent report suggests that the Merseysiders are contemplating whether to renew the Egyptian’s contract, contract extension would prove to be beneficial for both the parties.
