The new summer signing of Liverpool, youngster Trey Nyoni scored a hat-trick in a 10-0 victory against Southend United in a U-18 friendly.
The Anfield Giants had an extensive midfield rebuild this summer as they signed 4 new midfielders after losing several senior players.
However, the Reds had also been working in the shadows to sign future prospects for the current junior team.
The Merseysiders signed midfielder Trey Nyoni from Leicester City and Amara Nallo from West Ham United for an undisclosed fee.
And both the players since joining have been doing some wonders.
Liverpool youngster Trey Nyoni scores a hat-trick
The youngster scored 3 goals in a 10-0 victory against Southend United in a friendly match at Kirkby.
Apart from those 3 goals, Ranel Young, who played his first game of the season, Kareem Ahmed, and Afolami Onanuga all scored a brace. Wellity Lucky also scored one goal.
The coach of the Liverpool U-18 team, Marc Bridge-Wilkinson was very satisfied with the overall performance of the team. His post-match statement was published on club’s official website where he said,
“It was a really pleasing performance and we played really well.
We scored some excellent goals and it was nice to see the work we’ve been doing on the training pitch really pay off today.
Trey got his first goals in a red shirt, he will take a lot from that, and it was great to have Ranel back.
Fair play to Southend United as well. They never gave up even with the high scoreline, they kept working hard and we thank them for coming to Kirkby.”
Both the new signings Nyoni and Nallo made their Reds debut in a 6-1 Premier League Cup loss against Crystal Palace last weekend.
The England-born Zimbabwe-origin player turned 16 in June and currently represents the England U-16 national team. He has a very bright future ahead in the coming years and hopefully will don the Liverpool senior team outfit.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
