Liverpool have succeeded in signing 16-year–old defender Amara Nallo from West Ham United on a five-year contract on Thursday.
The Anfield giants have been one of the busiest parties in the transfer market this summer. They have had players both leaving the club and coming in.
The Merseysiders have mainly focused on revamping their midfield. They did so with the signing of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and most recently Wataru Endo.
Now they are working towards the fourth midfield signing, most likely either Ryan Gravenberch or Cheick Doucoure.
However, the club is also secretly working under the radar to sign young talent. Earlier reports confirmed that the Merseysiders had approached West Ham to sign young defender Amara Nallo.
And latest report has provided a positive progression update in this regard.
Liverpool signs Amara Nallo
According to a new report by ExWHUemployee via Patreon, the Reds signed the 16-year-old defender on a five-year deal at Anfield. He rejected a contract offer from the East London side.
The Hammers are obviously disappointed with this transfer as he has been “tipped for a bright future”.
Regular fans must not have heard about him or seen much of his game but academy staff have rated him highly.
Former West Ham striker and current U-16 coach of the Hammers, Carlton Cole praised Amara by saying,
“I would describe Amara as a Rolls Royce of a centre-back. He has a great left foot and is elegant when he moves with the ball.
He can play the ball with both feet and has been working on his heading as well. He’s a player who has a high ceiling.”
Despite being a 16-year-old, he has already played twice in the West Ham U-18 team last season.
The Englishman is a left-footed centre-back who will be turning 17 in the coming November. Then he would be eligible to receive a professional contract.
Hopefully, his signing sorts out the left-footed defender problem of Liverpool in the coming years.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
