Liverpool’s Shocking Transfer Decision Leaves Fans in Disbelief! Find Out About The ‘Excellent’ PL Defender Dropped from Their Summer Wishlist!

Liverpool FC have reportedly dropped the prospect of pursuing Nottingham Forest defender Murillo in the summer transfer window.

The managerial shakeup at Anfield will be bringing wind of change in the club ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The decision of Jurgen Klopp to leave the Merseysiders, after establishing his greatness throughout English and European football, has prompted the club to secure the services of Arne Slot.

The Dutch manager’s tenure will kickstart the new era at Anfield. Slot is expected to sign some new players to facilitate the post-Klopp era.

LFC will be trying to sign some new attackers as Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunes and especially Mohamed Salah are speculated to leave this summer.

However, the department that will be needing reinforcement on an even more urgent basis is defence.

As confirmed by expert Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are already working to sign new defenders. Even though many names have surfaced as some potential summer signings, a recent report suggests they will not sign a particular player.

Murillo: Liverpool Will Not Sign Forest Defender

According to a report from The Telegraph, Liverpool are one of the top clubs to keep an eye on Forest centre-back Murillo.

The Brazilian defender signed for the English club last summer at a bargain price of £11M, considering his exceptional displays this season.

The former Corinthians player has already registered 30 PL appearances for Forest since his arrival last August.

Now, the reports are indicating that the City Ground side could sell him for almost £70M. Although Liverpool and Arsenal had been keen on signing the 21-year-old, they backed have down now.

Understandably the reason behind that is the hefty price-tag of the young unproven defender. However, his future prospects are definitely better than many young defenders as Sky Sports’ Dougie Critchley has lauded him an ‘excellent’ player with a ‘big future’.

Despite all the claims, the £70M price-tag is just too much for such a young player. The decision of Liverpool to back down will eventually prove to be right.
