Liverpool came out victorious against Bournemouth but had a scare with Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold limping off and Curtis Jones out with an injury.

The weekend saw Liverpool win against the Cherries at Anfield 3-1 with goals from Diaz, Salah, and Jota.

However, Mac Allister received a red card early in the second half which became the talking point of the game. The fans, Klopp, and many pundits believed the red card was unfair for the nature of the tackle.

However, the decision has been overturned by the FA, following an appeal by Liverpool yesterday.

This means that Klopp has his Argentine midfielder available for the next three games that he would have missed otherwise.

Diaz, Trent, Jones: Liverpool players update

Meanwhile, the fans were scared of the other two players, who were substituted in the game. Luis Diaz and Trent limped off and it was a scare but now reports show that they have returned to training.

This means that the duo are also due for action next week. However, their 22-year-old midfielder, Curtis Jones would be out a bit further as he sustained an injury in training. Reports suggest that he could be back by the end of this week.

The 22-year-old has been side-lined for the second game this season. This is mainly due to his ankle injury.

Meanwhile, the reports say that the injury that the midfielder sustained was only a minor one. They state that he could return to training like Trent and Diaz and join the squad for Sunday.

Luis Diaz

However, for Luis Diaz and Trent, there is no such scare now as the players were pictured back in training. Diaz has been the standout player for Klopp so far and equalized for the Reds spectacularly. He was replaced by Darwin Nunez but was given treatment shortly before exiting.

Fans were concerned that it would be any potential problems related to the knee injury he sustained last season, which saw him out for 6 months. Moreover, after full-time, Klopp was full of praise for the Columbian.

“Top class, very good in shape but the second half was tough for him, being part of this new midfield was really hard for him, we could see that.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Similar to Diaz, Trent also left the action early on Saturday. He suffered a knock before being swapped with Joe Gomez then was seen leaving the dugout with an ice pack wrapped around one ankle.

“I hope so (that he’ll be okay). He told me he had a kick which was pretty painful but as far as a twist or fall, it was a kick. That’s why we changed then but I hope he will be fine.”

Klopp said at full-time

However, like Diaz, Alexander-Arnold was been pictured back in full training yesterday.

Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcantara

As mentioned, Jones is expected to join the squad hopefully on Sunday. While he is expected to get back soon and become available for Klopp.

However, the same isn’t the case with Thiago as he is still not completely ready for a return.

Klopp did mention that he wouldn’t be there for Bournemouth and said that he is really close to returning. As per reports, he is expected to return to action this month’s end or early September.
