After missing out on Lavia and Caicedo, Liverpool are now intensifying their pursuit of Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure.
What a crazy transfer window this has been for the Reds, who are still looking for a No. 6 while the Premer League season has already started.
With both the Ecuadorian and the Belgian making a move to Stamford Bridge, the Anfield outfit found themselves hijacked twice this summer.
The Merseysiders have been forced to look for alternatives, with Doucoure likely to be less expensive than both prior targets.
Although Palace are hesitant of losing too many players this summer, Doucoure’s final price could be less than £60 million.
As per the sources, the Malian midfielder is said to be eager to join Liverpool, and personal terms are not an issue.
According to the latest rumours, Liverpool are looking to make a bid for Cheick Doucoure, who migh be available for as less as £50m.
Liverpool advancing in race to sign Cheick Doucoure
According to journalist Miguel Delaney, Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit to sign Cheick Doucoure from Crystal Palace this summer.
The 23-year-old has 4.55 Progressive passes per 90 mins, with an 83.2% Pass completion rate. Moreover, the Malian has a 55.8% Dribblers tackled rate, averaging 1.82 Interceptions per 90 mins.
The Reds are in desperate need of a defensive midfielder, and this might be one of the cheapest options available in the transfer market at the moment.
Doucoure is currently under a contract with the Premier League club until the summer of 2027. While the Reds could have his services in 2023 if they meet Palace’s demands, which is rumored to be around £50m.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are back to links with Manu Kone, Ryan Gravenburch, and Khephren Thuram, feels like we are back at the start of summer again.
The Reds are also interested in Fulham’s Joao Paulinha, but Doucoure, 23, is considered as a more plausible alternative right now.
Liverpool is my Religion and Anfield is my Church. 17th May 1996 the date I had my blood coloured red. The one you love the most you can not live without it and that is football to me.
