Joshua Kimmich has been at the centre of plenty of transfer speculation as of late with both Liverpool and Chelsea linked.
The German has been a consistent player in the whole of Europe for almost a decade now. However, there are speculations that he might be leaving the club for a new challenge.
Kimmich could potentially join Liverpool over Chelsea
Speaking on The Done Deal Show, journalist Ben Jacobs has been discussing Kimmich’s future. He claims that he has heard that Liverpool and Manchester United are the teams chasing the versatile player. Moreover, he hasn’t heard much with regard to Chelsea.
“Yeah I’m not aware of Kimmich and Chelsea even though I’ve seen some of the links out there. From the perspective of Chelsea the profile of the player isn’t what they’re looking for at the moment, he’s 28, I know he’s versatile but I was always told that the clubs that were looking at Kimmich were more potentially Liverpool, although nothing advanced, or Manchester United, but I haven’t heard of anything advanced with Kimmich and Chelsea,”
Versatile player to Klopp’s rescue?
With already Leroy Sane being linked to the Reds, Kimmich is the latest to follow. The versatile player could be really handy for the Merseysiders.
Kimmich could be an incredible signing for the Reds. Not only would he be a fantastic holding midfield option, but as Jacobs says, with his versatility he could also be used at right-back.
He could possibly slot into right-back and therefore allowing Trent to play upfront.
Moreover, Jurgen Klopp and Jorg Schmadtke, of course, know all about the German market. Additionally, Kimmich has been one of the best players in the Bundesliga for a long time now.
Hence, we could expect Liverpool to make an attempt at signing Kimmich this January from Bayern.
