Liverpool are eyeing a move for Calvin William Ramsay, a Scottish professional footballer who plays for Scottish Premiership club Aberdeen as a defender.

Calvin Ramsay plays as a right-back for his club but making space for himself in Liverpool will be very difficult as the performance of Trent Alexander-Arnold for the Reds has been exceptionally well since he joined the club.

Furthermore, the 23-year-old has been nothing but exceptional this season too. The Englishman has played 27 matches in the Premier League and scored 2 goals which is not a high number. However, Alexander-Arnold has made 12 assists in the Premier League this season which shows how important he is for the Merseyside club.

Moreover, not only in the Premier League but the Liverpool’s right-back has made 6 assists in 11 games in the UEFA Champions League, Carabao Cup and the FA Cup combined.

The young prodigy, Calvin Ramsay

It looks as though Liverpool could be in the market for a new right-back this summer. Trent Alexander-Arnold obviously isn’t going anywhere, but Jurgen Klopp may need to shore up his options when it comes to cover for the Scouser

On the other hand, being just eighteen, he has played in 22 of the club’s 33 Premiership games this year, starting 19 times. He has managed a goal and four assists in those games.

In December, Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack even claimed that Ramsay was in the ‘elite upper bracket’ of young right-backs in Europe.

One for the future of the club

Furthermore, the Reds are looking very dangerous this season and they are looking forward to ending their season with more than 1 trophy.

Calvin Ramsay, being so young and talented can help the club to win more matches even in the absence of their first-choice right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. If the teenager is brought to Anfield, it will be a good opportunity for the rising star to prove himself in the most competitive league across Europe.
