Liverpool’s venture for new signings continues as rumors of the French midfielder’s link with the Reds prevail. According to reports, Liverpool are considering a deal for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The French international’s Turin contract is set to expire at the end of June, and he is reportedly getting ready to move on from the Old Lady for greener pastures.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Liverpool are closely monitoring the situation and are considering making an offer for the 27-year-old.

Adrien Rabiot to explore his options

As things stand, Rabiot has the option to speak with and sign a pre-contract with a team outside of Serie A. Given that Juventus might lose out on playing in Europe for the 2023–24 season, the Old Lady are not thought to be optimistic about their prospects of keeping the Frenchman.

The Turin giants are now ranked 10th in Serie A, 11 points behind sixth-placed Atalanta BC and 13 points behind Lazio in fourth position. Rabiot moved to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, and he has played 154 times for the Italian team, scoring 12 goals and dishing out eight assists.

Last summer, the Frenchman was heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United, and it was once believed that he was about to sign with the 20-time English champions.

He has been an important player for Juventus this season, scoring six goals and dishing out two assists in 25 games. Nevertheless, a transfer to Old Trafford is alleged to have fallen through because of his pay demands.

What he said to Sky Italia

“I’m here at Juve, focused on my performances. I’m not thinking of my contract now – we will see how talks will go in the next months.”

The midfielder “dreams” of joining the Premier League, claims Italian writer Fabrizio Romano. The Reds struggled in that region of the field during the 2022–23 season, hence Liverpool are anticipated to move for a few new central midfielders during the summer.

Rabiot, who played 227 times for PSG before switching to Juventus on a free transfer, has also been linked to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
