As per recent reports, Liverpool are ready to offer a huge sum of £71 million for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
The Reds lost out on signing the 23-year-old from AS Monaco last summer. As a result, Champions League holders Madrid were able to hire him.
However, the Merseysiders are again interested in signing the Les Blues star.
According to Spanish source Nacional, Liverpool are planning to make an offer worth £71 million to draw the Frenchman away from the Bernabeu.
As per the Catalan outlet, Los Blancos paid a humongous fee of 100 million euros to lure Tchouameni last year.
Real Madrid to offload Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni
Since making the move to Spain, Tchouameni has started only sixteen La Liga matches. The French midfielder has been limited to making appearances from the bench in recent weeks.
Recently, his place in the starting eleven has been taken by compatriot Eduardo Camavinga. Also, Real Madrid cannot afford to keep such an expensive player on the bench. Therefore, they could be looking to offload the French star.
The Frenchman has not lived up to the expectations. Tchouameni has also experienced injury and attitude issues this season.
In such a scenario, the Anfield Giants could turn out to be the beneficiaries. Jurgen Klopp remains convinced that the ex-Monaco man would represent a great signing.
Tchouameni has already won the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup under Ancelotti. The 23-year-old star was an important member of the France squad that won the Nations League in 2021.
Moreover, the 22-capped international started every single game for France in the World Cup last year.
Liverpool are in desperate need of reinforcements in the middle of the park. The Reds will be hoping to add quality options to the squad with the Frenchman as a potential target.
