Liverpool are ready to lock horns with Sparta Prague in the UEFA Europa League clash but will miss Jayden Danns and others due to injury.
After a thrilling 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest last weekend, the Reds will be returning in action as they face Sparta Prague in midweek Europa League clash.
Even though the Merseysiders have to deal with a depleted squad amid several injuries, their form has been great so far.
Klopp & Co.’s ‘Never Give Up’ mentality has led them to secure many victories from losing situations and kept them at the top of the PL points table.
As the ‘Mentality Monsters’ make their journey to Prague, this momentum would help them win an away fixture.
Liverpool Injury Situation: Jayden Danns Concussion
The Anfield giants held an open training session at the AXA Training Centre on Wednesday where many clues regarding the players’ injury situations came into light.
Among the many names who missed the session, young striker Jayden Danns was one. The 18-year-old forward made a prominent second-half appearance in the Nottingham match.
However, he was involved in a heavy collision with Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels on Saturday. Even though he was booked for that, he suffered a concussion which resulted in him missing the training.
Danns is unlikely to feature in the Sparta Prague match as LFC grapple through a injury-ridden season.
Caoimhin Kelleher Is Okay
Since Liverpool’s no.1 Alisson Becker has been sidelined due to injury, Caoimhin Kelleher has been fulfilling the role quite effectively.
However, when the livestream of the open session started, Kelleher was not to be seen at AXA Training Centre. The rumours of the goalkeeper joining Alisson in the treatment room started circulating around.
But the Irishman was actually training with the goalkeeping group at Kirkby so there is nothing to worry about that.
Liverpool Midfield Duo Still Unavailable for Injury
Two of Liverpool’s future midfield stars Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch were seen entering the training facility on Tuesday without wearing the protective boots.
However, Jones was carrying the boot which could indicate he has not healed yet. The uncertainty surrounding their return will definitely concern Klopp in the coming days.
Positivity As Key Players Return
Key Liverpool players Andy Robertson, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Darwin Nunez returned in action last Saturday against Forest.
Nunez was the hero of the match as he scored the last minute winner at City Ground. The other returnees also played crucial role in the match.
Perhaps the most positive news this week has been the return of Mohamed Salah right before the title-deciding clash against Manchester City.
His return would fuel the whole squad to try and challenge even harder for title.
