Liverpool could be in talks with both Romeo Lavia and Khephren Thuram after a conspicuous transfer clue emerged from their training camp in Germany.
Last week, Liverpool received a £40m bid from Saudi club, Al-Ittihad for Fabinho. Now recent reports state that the player hasn’t traveled with the squad for pre-season and that he has agreed on a move to the Middle East.
Moreover, there have been reports that the Liverpool captain is set to reunite with his former team-mate and captain, Steven Gerrard.
These have come as a shock to the Reds’ faithful who were eager to know about more incomings than outgoings.
After already losing a leader figure in James Milner, the supporters expected Henderson to completely take over that responsibility.
However, he has been the club captain for a really long time. Now, there are very few leader-like figures in the dressing room for Klopp.
That being said, the Reds wouldn’t shy away from replacing both of the experienced midfielders with young players.
The likes of Thuram, Kone, Caicedo, Florentino, Lavia, Trindade, and more have been on their shortlist.
Lavia and Thuram to sign for Liverpool?
After being linked to the Reds for quite a while, Thuram and Lavia are said to be close to signing for them.
Now, the reports are suggesting that the Reds are ready to sign both Khephren Thuram and Romeo Lavia this summer.
The fans have spotted ‘transfer clues’ after tracking the route of private plane of both players.
On Monday morning, a flight that was meant to go from Nice to Liverpool instead traveled to Southampton, via a two-hour stop off at Blackpool.
The same flight is then scheduled to leave Southampton Monday evening for Stuttgart, near where Liverpool are undergoing their training camp.
This has led some to believe a member of Liverpool’s recruitment staff was in Nice for talks with France international Thuram. Also, before flying to Southampton for negotiations with the Saints’ Lavia.
The theory has been corroborated by Gazzetta dello Sport’s fresh claim that Liverpool are set to increase their efforts to land Lavia this summer.
However, Southampton are likely to demand £50m to part ways with the 19-year-old.
Meanwhile, Spanish publications are reporting that Liverpool, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are all interested in luring Thuram away from Nice. Although, the Catalan club cannot afford to meet the Frenchman’s asking price.
Liverpool and Bayern however, are allegedly willing to agree the required £42.5 million for the 22-year-old.
