Liverpool might be preparing a huge transfer offer to sign Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella this winter after missing out on him this summer.
The Merseysiders completed an extensive midfield rebuild this summer but there are many names doing the rounds as their next midfield target.
The club signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch to Renault their midfield.
And although several other midfielders were linked with the Merseysiders, they were unable to sign them.
One of the names who was constantly linked with the club in the first half of the summer transfer window was Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella.
However, the latest report has reignited the conversation of a potential transfer.
Will Inter star Nicolo Barella join Liverpool?
According to a new report via Italian media outlet Calciomercatoweb, LFC have not completely lost their interest in the midfielder. The report also stated that his future at San Siro is very uncertain at this moment.
The Italian giants might need to sell him to raise funds for the club. And thus he will be available for a grab in the transfer market. So considering his qualities, he will not be unsold.
And the club who will be interested in him ‘in particular’ is the Merseysiders. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp already has a ‘passion’ for Barella. And in the coming few months the club will submit an ‘important’ proposal.
The Italian international is a player with great determination and fantastic athleticism. However, his signing addition will benefit the club is a serious question. His playstyle and caliber are almost similar to Macca or Szobo.
What the Reds need urgently is a solid defensive midfielder who will be able to break attacks and operate the game from the deeper regions. And Barella is not exactly that type.
In this situation, a good option would actually be the signing of Andre which is being considered at the moment. So all the speculations can only be resolved once the winter transfer window opens in January.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
