Liverpool have asked Wolves to keep them informed regarding the future of star midfielder, Ruben Neves who is set to leave the club this summer.
In the final home game of the season, Neves was seen waving potential goodbye to the Wolves faithful in an emotional lap of honour. His exit is reported to be imminent after Wolves finished the season at the 13th spot.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese is heavily linked to the La Liga champions, Barcelona. But it is reported that the Reds are also chasing the 26-year-old. It is believed that a £50m bid would be sufficient for Wolves to sell him.
With the midfielder having a year in his contract, he is said to be looking for a fresh challenge elsewhere. Though Barca are the club leading the race to sign him, their financial issues would be a key factor in deciding if they would be able to spend the millions on him or not.
Liverpool enquiring about Neves
As per Football Insider, Liverpool have asked Wolves to keep them informed on Neves’ future after a January enquiry was knocked back.
The Reds are in the market for several midfielders over the summer as a part of their midfield overhaul. Moreover, Alexis Mac Allister is looking like the first to come through the door after a rumoured agreement. It is to be seen whether the Wolves star would follow suit.
Moreover, Liverpool have been facing trouble in getting their targets to sign for them. The latest one being Manuel Ugarte who had been linked to the club for a long time.
However, it is now reported that PSG and Chelsea are set to compete for the Uruguayan midfielder. Moreover, the player is set to choose between the two clubs as well. This puts the Reds out of contention for the defensive midfielder.
Furthermore, the club is in a doubtful position to sign another of their long-term target, Ryan Gravenberch. After winning the league in a sensational manner, Tuchel is said to continue as Bayern’s coach the next season.
Also, he has included the Dutch midfielder in his plans and the Bundesliga insider told reports that the 20-year-old might not be leaving Germany yet.
