Liverpool are expected to submit an offer for young Fluminense midfielder Andre in “the next few days”, according to a new transfer update.
The Reds are hopeful of replacing the defensive midfielder, Fabinho, who has left for Saudi club, Al-Ittihad. Now, the Reds are looking at options for the defensive midfield role.
The Anfield club is targeting Romeo Lavia of Southampton but the Championship club is demanding as much as €50m for the Belgian. The Reds are preparing a third bid as per reports after two bids were rejected.
Now, Liverpool are also expected to prepare a bid of around €30m for the Fluminense midfielder, Andre.
Liverpool to bid for Andre?
Now that the new Premier League season is just a week away, the Reds’ faithful are looking frustrated over the lack of replacements for either Fabinho or Henderson.
However, with the news of Lavia’s personal agreement done, the Reds might need another midfielder.
Klopp is said to have been targeting the Brazilian wonder-kid, Andre. At just 22, he has made 145 appearances for Fluminense and has won a cap for Brazil.
Now, a new update has emerged surrounding Liverpool’s interest in Andre. It suggests he is a genuine target who could be on the way to England very shortly.
According to Gazeta Esportiva, the Merseysiders are preparing to make a bid for Andre in “the next few days.”
The Reds are prepared to offer €25m (£21.5m) for the Brazilian. He sees the move with “good eyes”, according to the report. Moreover, Liverpool themselves are confident that an agreement can be reached.
This is a positive update regarding the summer business at Anfield, with the club now needing to act quickly. That is to avoid a sticky midfield situation going into their Premier League opener away to Chelsea on August 13th.
However, Andre might not be thrown into the starting line-up in the first PL game. But he would still be a viable option on the bench for Klopp.
Applauds for the Brazilian
The Brazilian has been lauded for being “capable of doing everything” on the pitch by a scouting report from Breaking The Lines.
Meanwhile, football talent scout Jacek Kulig has hailed him as a “high-quality roaming playmaker”.
At 22, there would be so much more to come from Andre, too, and he really could be a long-term signing, assuming he makes a seamless transition from Brazilian football to English football.
If Liverpool could get him along with Lavia, they would be solving their midfield problems for many years to come. However, they do need another center-back, who could cover as a left-back too.
This could be the solution if Trent is moved up front into midfield and there could be a back three.
Should all three pieces of business be completed, the Reds will have had a very successful summer, but it remains to be seen if that will happen.
