Luis Diaz will not be part of the Liverpool squad traveling to face Chelsea. The Columbian winger has been unable to recover from his injury woes suffered in October.
Diaz is yet to make a single Premier League appearance for the Reds since their 3-2 defeat at the Emirates.
Following the inevitable sack of Graham Potter, Liverpool will face a managerless Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
As per the club’s official website, the 25-year-old will not be available for the massive clash against the Blues on Tuesday.
After the international break, Diaz returned to full training with the squad. However, despite making big strides in recovery the attacker is still not available for selection.
Liverpool being precautious by preserving Luis Diaz from Chelsea
Rushing a player back from injury is often a disaster and Jurgen Klopp will look to avoid that. However, the winger is still expected to return for the vital fixture against the Gunners.
It is no doubt that the Columbian has been a huge loss for the Reds this season. After a torrid year, the Anfield Giants really lament the loss of Diaz through injury.
The 25-year-old will be a welcome addition for Sunday against Arsenal as he would look to make an impact from the bench.
After a humiliating defeat against Manchester City, the Reds will be looking to bounce back. If history is any indication, the Merseysiders could grab a shock result against Mikel Arteta’s side.
Although, things would not be easy as the league leaders look to stomp their ground and secure their 14th Premier League title.
Since Diaz is the kind of player who could cause problems for Arsenal, it will be more important to have the Colombian fully fit to face the north London team than to rush the winger back for Chelsea.
