Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, the World Cup winner with Argentina, has spoken highly of Valentin Barco, a rising star in South American football.
As per The Daily Star, Barco is gaining attention from several top European clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester City.
During the recent Copa Libertadores final where Barco played 78 minutes for Boca Juniors against Fluminense, he showcased his talents, despite his team’s defeat.
Mac Allister on Valentin Barco
Mac Allister recently expressed his admiration for Barco’s stating on D Sports Radio (Translated by Sportwitness),
“I had the chance to see him and I’m not saying anything new when I say he’s a great player.
He has a lot of ability and even when it looks like the opponents are going to take the ball away from him, nobody can take it away from him. He’s still young and we have to take it little by little.
I see him very focused, even if sometimes on the pitch he sometimes throws a little bit too much. He can be a very important player for our country and represent us very well in Europe.”
Said Mac Allister
Valentin Barco is attracting substantial interest from top clubs, and it’s worth noting that his contract includes an £8 million release clause, making him an enticing prospect for Liverpool, Manchester City, and even Newcastle United.
This relatively modest fee resembles Liverpool’s signing of Andy Robertson, who also joined the club for £8 million and went on to become one of the world’s best left-backs under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance.
Barco’s future in football looks promising, and it remains to be seen where he will end up by 2024.
Liverpool is my Religion and Anfield is my Church. 17th May 1996 the date I had my blood coloured red. The one you love the most you can not live without it and that is football to me.
