Liverpool now needs to move quickly just like they did for Cody Gakpo signing if they want to sign Brazilian midfielder Andre Trindade before other clubs.
The Reds are expecting to add another midfielder in this winter transfer window after an extensive midfield rebuild this summer.
They are working towards signing a defensive midfielder which will bolster the midfield even more.
And the top target of the Merseysiders is Fluminese midfielder Andre Trindade. He recently played a crucial role in the Brazilian side’s Copa Libertadores campaign and was a key player for the title win.
The Brazilian Serie A side are also expecting the 22-year-old to leave the club this January. And the Anfield giants are the front-runners to sign the midfielder. Andre has already verbally agreed terms with the Reds.
Will Liverpool be able to sign Andre?
However, the Brazilian international has attracted interest from many PL clubs with his recent performances including the Copa Libertadores final show.
And according to a report via Brazilian media outlet Globo, Arsenal and Fulham are also keen to acquire the midfielder’s services.
The Gunners are currently suffering from a lack of depth in the middle of the park due to several injuries. And this has made the north London side to explore options.
So without much surprise, LFC will receive high competition from the other clubs. And the best way to tackle the situation is if they move exactly like they did to sign in-demand forward Cody Gakpo last January.
Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt recently admitted he expects Andre to leave the club in January. He said,
“We are waiting. Today, there is no concrete proposal for Andre but we are sure that after the World Cup – he will play in the World Cup – a stratospheric proposal will arrive.
It could be the biggest sale in the club’s history. We could possibly lose both (Andre and defender Nino), but we are working to replace them.”
It still remains to be seen how this transfer saga unfolds. But without any doubt, it would be nothing short of entertaining.
