Former PL striker and BBC pundit Garth Crooks has agreed with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on the fact that Mohamed Salah is an astonishing player.
The Anfield giants are currently flying high in the PL as they climbed to the top of the points table. The dramatic comeback against Crystal Palace last Saturday helped them earn 3 crucial points.
This victory made sure the Merseysiders had acquired 37 points in 16 matches. But the comeback was possible because of the vital equalizer from Mohamed Salah.
With this goal, the Egyptian King also completed his 200th goal mark for LFC and became the 5th player to do so. Since then, pundits have been praising his qualities and class.
Garth Crooks lauds Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, pundit Garth Crooks expressed,
“A very special number for a very special player, said Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool’s win at Crystal Palace and he’s right.
Salah clocked up his 200th goal for the club at Selhurst Park and it helped galvanise a victory that saw them finish the day top of the table.
To score 200 goals in your career is a remarkable achievement, but to do it at one club is quite astonishing.”
Now the next milestone for the attacker lies only 28 goals away. He will soon level with Reds icon Billy Liddell who is currently 4th in the list.
The milestone will not be very far away for Salah with his tremendous form this season. Also, the season ends in May which will be enough time for him.
But the record that remains untouched is the 346 goals scored by the legend Ian Rush. For the current no. 11 to beat that record, he will have to stick around for a little longer.
Many reports have suggested that Salah could potentially leave the club in the summer of 2024. His contract with the club expires in 2025.
If he wishes to break all the records at the Merseyside club, he will have to extend his contract beyond 2025 and the club will be more than happy to offer him that.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
