FC Barcelona’s Ansu Fati would be staying at his current club, as his father told the press about the decision after meeting with the player’s agent.

It was reported that the Reds were interested in the 20-year-old who was valued at around €40million. However, his father, Bori Fati told Mundo Deportivo that the Spaniard would be staying at the Catalan club for the next season.

It was rumored that Fati was being monitored by many clubs, including Liverpool. Also, it had been heavily speculated that the 20-year-old would be willing to move away from FC Barcelona.

The Barca wonderkid has had his share of problems under Xavi this season. With the likes of Ferran Torres, Gavi, and Raphinha, he was limited to substitute roles.

However, all three of the mentioned players are being linked to a move away from Nou Camp, the next season. This means that the number 10 could be a regular starter in Xavi’s side.

Ansu Fati to stay at Barca for next season

Fati was an ambitious project for Klopp and Liverpool. But now, the club that would arguably get the best out of the attacker would be Barcelona themselves.

The winger has a history of injuries at Barca. His first major injury was in November 2020, when a Real Betis defender went in for a tackle. The forward’s knee twisted in an awkward fashion and was diagnosed with torn inner meniscus.

After suffering a horrific injury, he was forced to get operated 4 times in just 6 months. His 3-month recovery into an 11-month prolonged recovery time.

Even though the winger finally managed to return after his share of problems, more knocks followed. His hamstring went once, then a second time. However, he has managed to make 40 appearances this season, with slight issues regarding his injuries.

Now, it seems like the attacker is back to his old self and showed glimpses against Osasuna. With the youngster staying in Barca next season, it is to be seen how the wonderkid would perform.
