Liverpool travelled to Carrow Road for Carabao Cup third round game hoping to continue to get the same result as the last time these two sides met in the Premier League game.

It was another proud night for Liverpool Academy as five academy graduates were involved for the Reds including three debutants, with nine changes to the team, Liverpool cruised past Daniel Farke’s men with a 3-0 victory.

Player Ratings:

Caoimhin Kelleher (GK) – (8/10)

Irishman had a very good game, as he was commanding the defensive third with great confidence. Dealt easily with every shot that came into him, saved Tzolis penalty with his feet and was quick of his line too.

Conor Bradley (RB) – (7/10)

Recovered well after conceding the penalty, but that didn’t affect much to him and comfortably raided down the flanks. Debutant is still 18 years old and in few more games, he could challenge Neco Williams for the backup Right back slot.

Joe Gomez (CB) – (7/10)

Klopp chose Joe Gomez as his captain for the game. He delivered the captain’s performance throughout the game and won a battle with physical Idah and superbly blocked twice after Kelleher saved the penalty.

Ibrahima Konate (CB) – (7/10)

Playing his second competitive game for Liverpool, the Frenchman is ridiculously strong and pacey. At times, perhaps reacted slower than expected but largely he controlled the whole 90 minutes smoothly.

Kostas Tsimikas (LB) – (8/10)

Full of energy, Tsimikas had another fine display and registered another assist to his name to set up the second goal. He is definitely challenging Andy Robertson for the place in starting eleven.

Curtis Jones (CDM) – (8/10)

20 years old made his 50th appearance for the club and was deployed at defensive midfield and battled well with his discipline and neat footwork and also involved in attacks and played his part well.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM) – (6/10)

Unfortunately, except for the occasional good moment, he didn’t have a good game. The Englishmen was seen holding the ball too long but kept going and when he switched to the left flank, he impressed and set up Minamino’s second goal.

Naby Keita (CM) – (6/10)

His pressing and passing in the opening half-hour helped Liverpool dominate the midfield. However, overall he had a quiet game after he had a cracking game against Crystal Palace last weekend. He was subbed off at halftime, as Tyler Morton made his debut. Later on, Klopp revealed the change was made due to a minor injury..

Kaide Gordon (RW) – (7.5/10)

16 years old made his debut, becoming the club’s fifth-youngest player ever. He created few good chances and cutting inside from the right, he almost scored his debut goal. Definitely, one to watch for the future.

Divock Origi (ST) – (8.5/10)

With a decent display against Crystal Palace in the last week, Origi had another good game and led the attacking line to set up the opening goal and then scored a brilliant header. He just loves scoring in League Cup.

TAKUMI MINAMINO (RW) – (9/10)

He was always a threat when racing into space in behind the Norwich backline. Playing in two positions – on the left wing and in midfield and scored a brace on his first competitive appearance for Liverpool and proved his worth into the team.

Substitute

TYLER MORTON (CM) – 7.5 (46)

Another debutant came in the second half and showcased an impressive display in a defensive midfield role.

ANDY ROBERTSON (LB) – 7 (66)

Came in for Tsimikas, made few misplaced passes and recovered well and got the job in the end.

JORDAN HENDERSON (CM) – N/A (87)

Henderson came in the 87th minute of the game for Jones but did not had much to do.
