After the recent fallout with Caicedo and Lavia’s moves to Chelsea, Liverpool now looks to sign the Madrid stars- Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde.

Now the Reds seem to have diverted their attention to the Spanish capital and are eyeing the two Madrid stars. As per The Secret Scout, Liverpool are understood to have enquired about the situation of Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde.

Liverpool now shift their focus towards Valverde and Tchouameni

The Reds have had a pretty bad transfer business in recent times after both their targets chose to join Chelsea over them.

Moreover, the most recent news of Romeo Lavia choosing to join Chelsea might not have come as a shock to many supporters.

This is to do with Liverpool’s resistance to bid the asking fee from Southampton. The Reds were rejected thrice as they never met the Saints’ asking fee of £50m.

However, they did get closer to the fee and their recent bid of £46m was rejected as well.

Now, trying to move on from the whole saga, the Merseysiders are eyeing a swoop for Valverde and Tchouameni. In fact, Liverpool have had an interest in Tchouameni for a very long time.

The Frenchman mentioned himself that Liverpool wanted to sign him while he was back at Monaco. But he eventually made the move to Madrid.

What’s interesting is the wording of the tweet. It implies that the Reds have asked Los Blancos what they plan to do with the players rather than make a bid.

However, if that’s the case, it may be that the Liverpool hierarchy are testing to see what’s possible.

After signing Jude Bellingham this summer, one or more midfielders could get sold by the Spanish side. This could, in fact, be to recoup the money and tighten up their squad.
