The chances of Liverpool signing Benjamin Pavard this summer have been handed a boost, reporting that Bayern Munich are willing to sell the defender.
As per Sky Sports, the German giants are open to selling the 27-year-old this summer, if there is a fair offer.
Benjamin Pavard to leave Bayern for Liverpool?
The World Cup winner has starred in France and Germany so far in his career. But he has really thrived in the Bundesliga with his current team.
He joined the Bavarian outfit back in 2020 and has since gone on to appear in 111 league games for Bayern. The former Stuttgart player has also won the league in every season since his arrival.
He even contributes offensively, having bagged eight goals and six Bundesliga assists over the course of his time in Germany.
Also, with a screamer back in France’s 2018 World Cup run against Argentina, he could chip in with some goals.
He has won the treble with Bayern as well. However, many have said that the Frenchman hasn’t yet reached his prime.
The Reds want to bolster their backline this transfer window and have seemingly identified Pavard as the man for their defence.
Moreover, it was reported that the Merseysiders had an offer ready to go for the player, but there haven’t been any bids yet.
However, as per new reports, the Reds have been handed a boost to sign the player. Bayern are now ready to offload the 27-year-old in this transfer window.
The German outfit wants around £30-35m for the defender in order for any deal to happen.
Pavard would be a great addition to the Reds as he has been described as underrated and a top team player by many.
He has an elite defensive skillset and would fit into Klopp’s squad like a glove. It is now up to Liverpool how much they think is the worth of the Frenchman.
