Jurgen Klopp says Joel Matip not fit to play

Jurgen Klopp agent speaks out as Liverpool boss begged to take new job: Report

German media outlet has mentioned that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a candidate to replace Hansi Flick as the Germany manager. The change will be imminent prior to Euro 2024 after a poor run of games.

Jurgen Klopp’s agent has declined all the possibilities of him taking over the German national team. He is staying at Liverpool as the Reds’ manager.

Germany will be hosting next year’s European Championship and as a result, they have automatically qualified. However, this have not taken any pressure off of Hansi Flick.

The German national team has been in a bad run of games in international friendlies. Flick was appointed by DFB in 2021 despite links with Klopp at that time.

But now Flick’s future is under scrutiny after going winless for four straight matches. The Germans lost 3-2 to Belgium in Cologne in March.

And now in the June international break, they drew 3-3 against Ukraine, lost 1-0 to Poland, and then lost 2-0 to Colombia. Liverpool’s star forward Luis Diaz opened the scoring for the Latin American side.

Die Mannschaft suffered a terrible group-stage exit from the World Cup in 2022. Adding the underwhelming performances of last year’s Nations League, Germany have won only five out of 17 matches since the start of 2022.

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has addressed the issue and said to Sky Germany,

“The danger that this will go wrong with him is so great that you have to act now.

It’s going in the wrong direction at a huge pace. [He has] lost the trust of the players.

If it’s right in the team, then the boys do it themselves, because they say: ‘We’ll go through fire for him.’

That’s not the case at the moment.”

Jurgen Klopp to leave Liverpool and manage the Germany national team?

German news outlet BILD reported on the situation as Journalist Matthias Bruegelmann praised the Merseysiders’ boss as the “premium solution”. He wrote,

“Already after the exit in Qatar he was sounded out – but in vain.

He felt it was his duty to lead Liverpool out of the crisis!

But the DFB has to fight for him with all its might. Klopp would put Germany in Euro euphoria from now on.”

But Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke spoke to BILD and has made it clear that he is not leaving Liverpool anytime soon.

“Jurgen has a long-term contract with the LFC and the DFB has a national coach. So it’s not an issue for us at all.”

The man himself has spoken his mind,

“Am I available for the job in the summer? No, I will not be available as a potential coach for the German team.

I have three years left at LFC, don’t I? It’s simple.

You sign a contract and you stick to that contract. I stuck to contracts at Mainz and Dortmund.”

Klopp recently extended his contract by two more years in April 2022. So he will be under contract with LFC until the end of the 2025-26 season. Getting him as a coach would just remain a dream for DFB and the German national team for now.
