Liverpool will make their bid for French midfielder Khephren Thuram in next month. The Reds have been eyeing to sign the 22-year-old for a while.
New reports have confirmed that Liverpool will bid for Khephren Thuram in July. According to Nice-Matin, the Merseysiders will submit the official bid to Nice after the international break.
The Frenchman has well-established himself in OGC Nice’s first-team as a regular in the 2022-23 season. He appeared in 35 games in Ligue 1 and netted two goals and provided four assists.
However, he has been such a reliable presence in the middle of the park for the French side that he has made 114 appearances in just four seasons. He has shown that despite being young, he knows how to take responsibility and handle pressure.
His technical abilities have also been evident when compared to other experienced midfielders across Europe’s ‘Top Five’ leagues.
Although the 22-year-old is a defensive midfielder, he averages 1.1 shots, 1 key pass, and 1.3 successful dribbles per game. These stats rank him in the top six percent in the world in the midfield position.
Liverpool makes Khephren Thuram their next transfer priority
These performances have made many clubs across Europe interested in him. But Liverpool have been the most interested club among other PL clubs. The club has also made Thuram one of the main targets of this transfer window.
The report has suggested that Liverpool will be ready to make a move to sign him once the European U21 Championship ends in July.
He might be an expensive signing for the Anfield giants as Nice wants around £35M for the midfielder. Although the midfielder has already informed the club that he wants to leave Nice this summer.
Despite his age, he has already earned praise for his talent from Talent Scout Jacek Kulig. Kulig called Thuram “excellent” in terms of technicalities and added that he is a “top” talent.
The signing of Thuram will prove beneficial for Liverpool for the foreseeable future. It would be interesting to see how things turn out.
