Liverpool have achieved success regarding the agreement of personal terms with Khephren Thuram beating Newcastle United. The Frenchman is willing to join the Reds.
The Merseysiders have reportedly opened talks with Nice over the transfer of Khephren Thuram. The club has already succeeded in signing Alexis Mac Allister. They are also in talks with Thuram’s fellow Frenchman Manu Kone.
Newcastle United are said to be also a candidate to chase after the 22-year-old midfielder. The Magpies finished top-4 right above Liverpool in the PL table. They also qualified for the UCL for the first time after 20 years.
With this kind of performance, the team and coach Eddie Howe are looking forward to maintaining the standards. So they are also in the middle of a midfield rebuild same as the Anfield giants.
Khephren Thuram closer to joining Liverpool than Newcastle?
Competition for Thuram’s signing is very high, although the Reds are in the lead in the chase. According to a report via Football Transfers, the Frenchman has already informed Nice that he wants to move to Anfield and also has verbally agreed to personal terms.
The signing fee for the 22-year-old is reportedly at £51M. The report added that Nice will probably sell the midfielder below the mentioned price. But they want to take advantage of clubs like Newcastle and PSG being in the mix just to increase the final selling price.
However, a report via The Athletic stated, just to confuse the transfer market more that Liverpool have supposedly discarded speculations about agreeing on personal terms.
Thuram was called up for the first time in the senior French national team in March. He has shown his quality over the years and last season has been the best one for him so far.
If Liverpool are able to capture this deal then he will definitely be a valuable addition to the team.
