PL rivals Arsenal has reportedly offered Liverpool the chance to sign their ‘supremely gifted’ midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.

The Anfield giants are scouting the market in search of the fourth midfield signing this window.

The club despite losing senior players and missing out on several midfielders, somehow managed to get positive results.

The Merseysiders spent around £111M and signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo. Now they need only one midfield signing to conclude this window.

Reports suggest that Ryan Gravenberch and Cheick Doucoure remain high on the wanted list of the Reds.

However, the latest report indicates otherwise.

Will Liverpool sign Albert Sambi Lokonga?

According to a new report via GFFN, the North London club has offered Albert Sambi Lokonga to the Merseyside club.

Arsenal signed the Belgian international from Anderlecht in 2021 summer. And the ‘supremely gifted’ midfielder started off strong at the Emirates stadium under Mikel Arteta.

But his form dipped very badly in the second half of the 2021-22 season and he was dropped off the team. He did not play much in the 2022-23 season and was sent on a loan to Crystal Palace in January.

However, he had a decent half-season for the Eagles with a notable performance against the Reds. The 23-year-old made 9 appearances for Palace and averaged 1.4 tackles and 0.8 interceptions per game.

At this point, the midfielder has no future at Arsenal as they are already solid with their midfield. Amid this situation, the best option for Lokonga is a move out.

Although the Merseysiders need a midfielder, they won’t be much interested in signing the Belgian midfielder.

As the club has already made progress with their other targets, it now depends on how they execute the signings before September 1.

The prospect of Arsenal offering a player is quite exciting though.
