German side Werder Bremen are apparently not happy with former Liverpool star Naby Keita after he joined the club this summer and picked up an injury.
The Merseysiders executed their summer business very well in the transfer market. The club signed four new midfielders to complete their desired midfield rebuild.
The Reds also sold and let go of several senior midfielders to free up wages to accommodate the new signings. Among these players, Naby Keita was one of them.
The Guinean international joined German side Werder Bremen for free this summer and it has been disastrous for the midfielder. And the latest report is not very fruitful for him.
Former Liverpool man Naby Keita off to a disappointing start at Werder Bremen
As per a new report via German media outlet BILD, the German club is not happy with how the signing of Keita has worked out so far. The midfielder has picked up an early injury in the pre-season.
This injury will keep the 28-year-old player out for the entire season. And this has infuriated the Bremen management.
The report states although the midfielder has returned to first-team training, there is not any particular date as of when he could make his debut for Bremen.
Injuries had been one of the important factors why Keita’s career did not work out at Anfield. The Reds signed him from RB Leipzig back in 2018 for €60M.
But the Guinean midfielder only managed to appear 129 times within the span of 5 whole seasons. He scored 11 goals and assisted 7 in that time.
And all the fans were hoping that his second spell in Germany would have been different and exciting than his time at LFC.
Keita has the potential to be a superstar in the Bundesliga but to get the most out of the midfielder the German side has to be more patient and wait for the right time to come.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
